Compass Group is a global leader in food service and support services. It operates in more than 30 countries and serves millions of meals a day across business, healthcare, education and leisure.
The challenge
What needed solving
With a vast network of suppliers, kitchens and dining facilities, managing product information and stock by hand was no longer sustainable. Accurate data had to flow across every location to cut waste, keep inventory at the right level and stay compliant with health and safety rules.
The goal: centralise and standardise product data, track and forecast stock, reduce food waste with better rotation and alerts, and connect suppliers directly into procurement.

The solution
What we built
2C was the sole development team on the project, working directly with Compass Group’s business team for more than two years. Alongside Neptune consultants, we drove the core development end to end.
We built a modular, role-based platform on Neptune Software and AWS, using microservices across separate client, system and business layers. External supplier databases are integrated directly, so product availability and specifications stay current, and each interface is designed for the people who use it every day - kitchen staff, procurement and logistics.

Up-to-date ingredient, allergen and nutritional data for every product, consistent across all operations.
